Every sunset
once reminded me of a girl
with piercing eyes and a frostbite heart,
cold to the touch.

Now,
I look to the moon
and the sky of misting stars
and think of her.

Her
with eyes like a painting and a heart of butterflies
that flutter to me,
even when we’re miles apart.

Looking up
towards the galaxies,
I am reminded of her smile
that could light up the whole sky.

Looking forward
to what is ahead
rather than behind me,
I see that it’s warmer.

wrote this a long time ago. but i like it.

it means something different now.

it doesn’t hurt.
